TCU to host inaugural Horned Frog Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU track and field team will begin its outdoor season at home on Saturday with the inaugural Horned Frog Invitational at the Lowdon Track & Field Complex.

"We are happy to get going with the outdoor season at our home facility," head coach Darryl Anderson said. "Hopefully the weather will hold up because it will be a good meet. We will run everyone in the meet and we are looking forward to getting out and competing again."

The meet will include both college and high school teams and it will begin with the high school long jump at 8 a.m. The final event is the men's 1600m relay that begins at 5:40 p.m.

Competing in the inaugural event are TCU, UTA, North Texas, Illinois (women only) and St. Gregory's (men only). The meet also includes seven area high schools, including Keller, O.D. Wyatt, Dallas Madison, Dallas Carter, Southwest (boys only), Dunbar (girls only), Skyline (girls only) and North Crowley (girls only).

Saturday's meet will mark the first of as school-record two home meets this season for TCU. The Horned Frogs will also host the TCU Invitational on April 21.

Admittance into the meet is $5 for adults and $3 for youth (high school or younger). Fans attending the meet should park in the lot on the north side of the baseball and track complex.
