FORT WORTH – The TCU track and field offices have some important notes for coaches and spectators relating to this weekend’s TCU Invitational on Thursday and Friday and the TCU High School Invitational on Saturday.
Accepted Entries/Heat Sheets/Packet Pick Up
The heat sheets for the TCU Invitational and the accepted entries list for the TCU High School Invitational are posted on the “Home Meet Information” page here. There will be no changes. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the following days and times:
College: Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
High School: Saturday, 8:30-10:30 a.m.
The college meet will not have a steeplechase competition. The first running events on the track will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday. The high jump times have also changed. The men’s high jump will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the women’s competition to follow.
The men’s discus will have two separate competitions with six straight throws for each section.
Thursday Throwing Events
Throwing events will begin Thursday at 1 p.m. with the women’s discus. Competition will be on a rolling schedule. As soon as one event is completed, event warm up for the next event will begin immediately. Listed times on the meet schedule are “projected” start times. Due to not having lights at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex if events get ahead of schedule, they will stay ahead of schedule. Coaches and student-athletes are advised to prepare accordingly.
Parking for Teams and Officials
Visiting team buses will drop off and remote park in Lot 2, as has been the case in the past.
Officials will park in Lot 13 (soccer parking lot), and overflow will go in the grass in that area, if need be.
Throwing Apparatus Weigh-Ins
All weigh-ins will take place at the garage on the North side of the Lowdon Track and Field Complex next to the scoreboard. All apparatuses may be dropped off at once, or no later than one hour prior to the event.
Thursday weigh-ins for the women’s discus will begin at noon. Friday weigh-ins begin at 9 a.m. for the men’s discus.
For the high school meet, weigh-ins will begin at 9 a.m.
