TCU track and field earns All-Conference accolades
Feb. 27, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The TCU track and field team had 13 student-athletes named to the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The women's team had eight selections following a third-place finish, while the men's team had four honorees after finishing fifth. Headlining TCU's selections were Virgil Hodge and Kishelle Paul, who each earned all-conference honors in three events. Delwayne Delaney and Nathandra John earned all-conference honors in two events. On the men's side, Delaney won the 60-meter dash and placed third in the 200 meters. Freshman Dell Guy was selected all-conference for placing third in the 400 meters. Fellow freshman Trey Jordan placed third in the shot put. Rounding out the men's honorees was Justyn Warner, who finished second in the 60-meter dash. For the women, Hodge won the 60 meters and 200 meters, and was a member of the 4x400 relay team that won the conference title. Paul placed third in the 60-meter hurdles, finished runner-up to Hodge in the 200 meters and was also a part of the 4x400 relay. Freshman Neidra Covington was honored for winning the triple jump title. Both John and Deborah Jones received all-conference accolades for placing second and third, respectively, in the 400 meters. John was also a part of the 4x400 relay team. Jamee Jones was honored for placing third in the 60-meter dash. Calandra Stewart was honored for placing third in the mile run. Also receiving honors were Candis Kelley, who won the shot put and Marquita Davis, who was a member of the 4x400 relay team that won the conference title.
