TCU's Aundre Edwards and Donita Harmon have been selected as the Conference USA Male and Female Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week of January 25, the conference office announced today.

Edwards improved his NCAA provisional mark in the long jump by winning the Houston Indoor Classic with a personal-best leap of 7.80 meters or 25 feet, 7 1/4 inches. That mark is the third longest recorded in Division I track & field this spring. The junior from Kingston, Jamaica who finished fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships a year ago, entered the spring with an indoor best mark of 7.50 meters. He improved that to 7.70 meters in the first meet of the season at the Oklahoma Indoor Classic on January 18, before topping that mark this past weekend.

Harmon won the 200 meter dash at the Houston Indoor Classic with an NCAA provisional time of 24.16 seconds. She holds the eighth fastest time recorded in the country at 200 meters this spring. The freshman from Albuquerque, New Mexico also placed fourth in the 60-meter dash at meet in Houston with a time of 7.46 seconds.

The TCU Flyin' Frogs men's team is ranked in a tie for seventh in the country this week, according to the weekly Trackwire 25 poll. According to the poll, the Frogs and Mississippi State figure to score 24 points at the NCAA meet, just two points behind third-ranked Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina. LSU, the defending outdoor national champion, continues to hold the top spot with 60 points, followed by Arkansas with 55. The Trackwire 25 projects a hypothetical score for the NCAA meet, factoring in injury reports and other variables supported by information gathered from coaches and NCAA-qualifying competitions across the country.
