DES MOINES, Iowa - The Flyin' Frogs men's 4x100 and senior Joe Brown collected All-America honors on Friday to lead TCU at the NCAA Championships at Drake Stadium.

"We have had a decent week and a successful year," said head coach Darryl Anderson. "Obviously, Jonathan comes back tomorrow and will look to end his career the right way. Overall, we have some things that we need to do over the off-season to get better, but we put some things into place this week that will help us move forward and strive for the best."

In the men's javelin, Brown earned All-America honors by tossing the javelin 211 feet, 9 inches to place 10th overall. On Friday, Brown, a Kansas native, became the first TCU athlete ever to be named an All-American in the javelin. The finish by Brown was also the best by a TCU javelin thrower at the NCAA Championships.

Senior Jonathan Jackson opened competition at Drake Stadium in the prelims of the men's triple jump by soaring 52 feet, 4 1/2 inches on his final attempt. Jackson, a two-time All-American, finished opening round action in sixth-place to advance to Saturday's final.

Finally, the men's 4x100 unit consisting of Justyn Warner, Mychal Dungey, Andon Mitchell and Otis McDaniel earned All-America honors by crossing the finish line in seventh-place with a time of 39.60 seconds.

"For them to finish seventh in the country isn't bad, but that group is young so they will all be back next year and have a chance to do even better," said Anderson.

Overall, the All-America honor for the men's 4x100 marked the second time under Anderson that a TCU men's 4x100 unit has received All-America status. Both McDaniel and Warner posted their second All-America award of their career. Finally, Brown posted his first All-America selection of his career in his final outing as a TCU Horned Frog.

TCU will continue action tomorrow in Des Moines with the men's triple jump at 1 p.m.
