DES MOINES, Iowa - TCU continued competition on Thursday at the 2008 NCAA Championships at Drake Stadium.

Six-time All-American Virgil Hodge opened the day clocking a time of 23.36 seconds in the women's 200 meters to place second in her heat and ninth overall in first round action. She came back later in the day to post a time of 23.29 seconds in the semifinals, but just missed qualifying for Saturday's final. Overall, the senior, who is the only female in school history with at least six All-America honors, finished her phenomenal TCU career in ninth-place overall and fourth in semifinal heat No. 1.

On the men's side, Mychal Dungey, a freshman from Austin, crossed the finish line in 20.95 to place second in his first round heat and ninth overall, while junior Otis McDaniel clocked a time of 20.87 in the final heat of the men's 200 meters to finish in the No. 7 position in first round action. In the semifinals, both Dungey and McDaniel placed fifth overall in their heats with times of 20.75 and 20.80, respectively, but just missed qualifying for Saturday's final round of action.

In the women's 400-meter hurdle semifinal, junior Kishelle Paul, the Midwest Regional Champion, recorded a time of 58.28 to finish fifth in her heat, but failed to advance to Friday's final after placing 12th overall.

Finally, the men's 4x400 unit consisting of Che Chavez, Dell Guy, Clemore Henry and Matthew Love closed out the second day of competition third in heat No. 3. Overall, the quartet clocked a time of 3:05.19 to finish in ninth-place Thursday night.

TCU will continue action tomorrow at the 2008 NCAA Championships in Des Moines. Senior Joe Brown will open competition at 1 p.m with the final of the men's javelin, while fellow senior Jonathan Jackson will take to the runway at 4:15 p.m. with the first round of the men's triple jump. Finally, the men's 4x100 will close action on the track with the finals beginning at 7:15 p.m.
