Killen and Kelley win discus on Friday

FORT WORTH, Texas - Sophomore Tommy Killen tossed a regional qualifying mark of 179 feet, 3 inches to win the men's discus on Friday at the TCU Invitational.
Killen, a sophomore from New Iberia, La., tossed 179-03 (54.65m) to place first overall in the event. Killen's toss is currently the seventh best toss in the Midwest Region.
On the women's side, TCU junior Candis Kelley opened the TCU Invitational by placing first overall with a personal best toss of 142 feet, 4 inches. She was followed by freshman Stormy Harrison who recorded a throw of 141 feet, 7 inches to finish in second-place at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex.
TCU will continue competition tomorrow with the second-day of the TCU Invitational. Start time is set for 10 a.m. at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex.
