General
* Justin Speer will compete in the 1500 meters and steeplechase events...Also is a candidate for the distance medley relay.
* A top five finisher for the Frogs during the 2000 cross country season, did not compete as a harrier last fall...Expected to return to the cross country circuit in the fall.
2001 Track
* Ran the mile during the indoor season...Best time was 4:20.99 at the Tyson Indoor Invitational.
* Placed ninth at the WAC Indoor Championships in the mile, clocking a 4:33.42.
* Placed ninth at the WAC Championships in the 1500 with a season-best time of 4:02.08.
2000 Cross Country
* Consistently placed among the top five finishers for TCU.
2000 Track
* Top times were 2:01.40 in the 800, 4:02.96 in the 1500, 9:43.59 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 15:48.75 in the 5000.
1999 Cross Country
* Finished 43rd at the WAC meet, covering the 8K course in 27:28.
High School
* Lettered twice in cross country and in track...Twice named the B.F. Terry High School (Rosenberg, Texas) Most Valuable Runner.
* Coaches were Gary Bean and Bennett Hatton.
* Best times were a 4:25 mile and a 9:46 two-mile.
Personal
* Justin Andrew Speer was born Sept. 18, 1980...Parents names are Stan and Edie Speer...Majoring in finance.
* Earned academic All-WAC honors.
