General

  • The most prolific female distance runner at TCU, Kinyanjui completed her eligibility with the 2004 cross country season.
  • A two-time Conference USA and South Central Region cross country champion... joined Glady's Keitany as the only TCU female runners to win two league cross country titles.
  • Named to the C-USA Cross Country 10th Anniversary squad.
  • Holds three school records on the track: the 3,000 and 5,000m indoor and 5,000 outdoors.

    2004 Cross Country

  • Defended her Conference USA and South Central Region titles... won the C-USA meet in 21:16 and took top honors in the region with a personal best 6K time of 20:09, earning her second straight trip to the NCAA Championships.
  • Also defended her title at the Texas A&M Invitational, covering the 5K distance in 17:57, and placed fourth at the Chile Pepper Festival.
  • Finished 77th at the NCAA Championships with a time of 21:43.
  • Was one of 10 female athletes named to the Conference USA All-Decade team for cross country.

    2004 Track

  • Competed in the mile, 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters during the indoor season... set two school records, breaking the 3,000 meter mark in a time of 9:39.09 at the Razorback Invitational and shattering the 5,000 meter mark at the Last Chance Meet in Ames in 16:23.55.
  • Won the C-USA indoor 5,000 meter crown (17:02.34), was second in the 3,000 (9:53.75) and took fifth in the mile (4:58.77).
  • Focused on the 5,000 meters during the outdoor season... broke the school record at the Texas Relays, earning runnerup honors with a time of 16:41.81.
  • Defended her C-USA 5,000-meter crown with a time of 17:07.93.
  • Took the silver medal in the 5,000 at the Midwest regional meet, covering the distance in 16:46.56 to earn a spot at the national meet.
  • Finished 17th at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:17.58.

    2003 Cross Country

  • Was TCU's top finisher in every cross country meet during the fall schedule, culminating in top honors at both the Conference USA Championships and the South Central Regional meet, earning a trip to the NCAA Championships.
  • After a seventh place finish in the UNT Season Opener, did not finish lower than fourth in the next five cross country meets.
  • Won the Texas A&M Invitational, covering the 6K distance in 21:34.
  • Took fourth place at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater with a time of 21:15 over the 6000 meter course.
  • Placed second in the Chile Pepper 6K event in Fayetteville, Arkansas with a time of 20:56.5.
  • Earned first team all-conference honors by winning the C-USA Cross Country Championships with a time of 20:45.4... became just the second TC
  • female athlete to win a conference title, joining Glady's Keitany.
  • Named the South Central Region Female Athlete of the Year after winning the regional meet in 20:44, earning a trip to the NCAA meet.
  • Placed 45th at the NCAA Championships despite falling twice in the first 600 meters of the race... finished in a time of 20:51.5.

    2003 Track

  • Competed at both the 3000 and 5000 meter distances during the indoor season... placed fifth at the C-USA indoor meet in the 3000 (9:59.48) and sixth in the 5000 (17:29.07).
  • Focused on the 1500 and the 5000 meters during the outdoor season.
  • Won the Conference USA outdoor title at 5000 meters, establishing a school record in the process with a time of 16:47.84... the old mark was 16:52.84, set by Katie Singleton in 2000 at the Penn Relays.
  • Finished fifth in the conference in the 1500 meters with a season-best time of 4:32.58.
  • Competed at the Midwest Region meet in the 5000... placed sixth with a time of 17:29.25.

    2001-2002 (Butler County C.C.)

  • Placed fourth at the National Junior College cross country meet in 2002, finishing the 5K course in 18:09.7... led her team to the NJCAA cross country title... coached by Kirk Hunter.
  • Was a triple winner at the NJCAA Indoor Championships in 2002... captured the national title in the one mile run (5:03.60), the 3000m run (10.28.30) and the 5000m run (18:23.07)... set school records in all three events... won the 5K by 25 seconds over her nearest competitor.
  • Took first place honors in both the 5K and 10K at the 2002 NJCAA Outdoor Championships... holds the school records in the outdoor 5K, 10K and as a member of the 4x800m relay.
  • Placed third at the 2001 national JC cross country championships.
  • Placed third in both the 5000 meter run and 10,000 meter run at the 2001 NJCAA Outdoor Championships, recording times of 18:54.80 and 39:55.11 respectively.
  • Finished third in the 5K (18:44.01) and sixth in the 3000 meters (11:18.62) at the NJCAA Indoor Championships in 2001.
  • Set personal bests of 4:40 for the 1500, 10:03 for the 3000, 17:17 for the 5K and 37:44 for the 10K.

  • Graduated from Mukua High School in Kiambu, Kenya... was coached by Nganga Ngata.
  • Lettered four times in both track & field and in cross country during her prep career... was a national participant all four years.
