2008 Cross Country
Kigen closed out the 2008 season representing TCU at the NCAA Championships where he finished 136th out of 252 competitors ... Overall, he led TCU in every meet this fall and finished 4th overall at the South Central Regional to punch his ticket to nationals ... At the South Central Regional, Kigen, who was named to the all-region squad, finished the men's 10K race with a time of 30:35.0 to record his highest regional finish of his career and TCU's highest men's finish since 2005 ... Kigen opened the month of Nov., earning runner-up honors at the Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships ... The Eldoret, Kenya, native, crossed the finish line in 24:25 to earn the highest-finish for a Horned Frog on the men's side in MWC history ... During the regular-season, Kigen picked up Mountain West Athlete of the Week honors by clocking a personal-best 8K time of 24:18 at the Cowboy Jamboree ... He followed that up by posting a time of 29:44.11 at the Chile Pepper Festival, which was the third-fastest 10K time in the conference ... Kigen's 6K time of 18:40:93, which was set at the Baylor Twilight, led the conference, while he has finished in the top-10 in five different meets this fall.
2008
Earned all-conference honors in the 1,500 meters after placing second overall at the Mountain West Conference Championships with a time of 3:48.28 ... Also crossed the finish-line in second-place in the 5,000 meters at the championships ... Kigen placed first overall in the men's section A of the 1500 meters at the Texas Relays, crossing the finish line with a then personal best time of 3:50.30 ... At the Mt. SAC Relays, he placed second overall in the men's 5000 meters by crushing the NCAA regional qualifying mark with a time of 14:03.61 in the university division of the 5,000 meters ... At that time, Kigen's time was the second fastest time in the Mountain West Conference and ranked in the top 20 of the NCAA ... Just missed qualifying for the NCAAs, by clocking a time of 14:07.51 at the Midwest Regional to place eighth overall ... During the indoor season, he won the Rod McCravy Invite with a time of 8:14.57 in the men's 3,000 meters ... Kigen also placed third at the conference championships in the 3,000, while recording a personal-best mark of 8:05.05 to finish in second-place in the event at the Arkansas Invite.
2007 Cross Country
Kigen, a Kenya native, closed out the season representing TCU at the NCAA Championships ... Overall, he led TCU in every meet this fall and finished 10th overall at the South Central Regional to punch his ticket to NCAA's ... His 15th-place effort at the Mountain West Championships led TCU in Albuquerque, N.M., while his 10K time of 30:04.03 at the regional ranked second in the Mountain West Conference ... Kigen, who was named to the 2007 South Central Region cross country team, had a successful sophomore campaign, earning Mountain West Conference Athlete of the Week following a fifth-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational on Sept. 22 ... Overall, Kigen, who posted a season best time of 24:34:00 in the 8K, finished first overall at the North Texas Invitational on Sept. 15, while turning in back-to-back top-10 performances at the Cowboy Jamboree and Chili Pepper Festival, respectively this past fall.

Competed in the 3000 meters and 5000 meters during the indoor season and the 800, 1500 and 5000 meters during the outdoor season ... Finished fourth in the 1500 meters at the MWC Outdoor Championships with personal-record time of 3:51.10 ... Placed ninth in the 5000 meters at the MWC Outdoor Championships ... Notched personal-best mark of 14:21.80 to place second in the 5000 meters at the Penn Relays ... Won the 1500 meters at the Horned Frog Invitational (3:56.30) Won the 800 meters at the TCU Invitational with a personal-best mark of 1:52.93 Placed second in the 800 meters at the Horned Frog Invitational ... Won first collegiate cross country meet by winning the Texas A&M Invitational with a time 25:16 ... Named Mountain West Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Sept. 19 ... Competed in five of six meets ... Led TCU in every meet ... Teamed with Alex Morris at the Bear Relays where the duo finished fourth with a time of 38:35.94 ... Finished 13th at Mountain West Conference Championships with a time of 25:16.8 in the 8k ... Finished 25th at Cowboy Jamboree with a time 25:45 in the 8k ... Finished 23rd at South Central Regional with a time of 31:20.0 in 10,000 meters.
