General
* Esther Jackson, who competed last year under the name of Esther Thomas, is a talented sophomore from Richardson High School in Dallas.
* The first multi-athlete in school history, Esther looks to build on a tremendous freshman campaign.
* Versatile performer has the potential to score at the conference meet in long jump, the triple jump, the 100m hurdles and the multi-events.
2001
* One of the busiest athletes in a TCU uniform, Esther participated in several events, both during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
* Finished third in the pentathlon and seventh in the long jump at the WAC Indoor Championships...Also competed in the 55-meter hurdles at the conference indoor meet.
* Competed in four events at the WAC Outdoor Championships... Best finish was a bronze medal in the heptathlon...Also placed fifth in the long jump, sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and 10th in the triple jump.
High School
* Lettered three times in track and twice in volleyball at Richardson High in Dallas.
* Recorded personal bests of 13.8 in the 100m hurdles, 44.0 in the 300m hurdles, 19-3 in the long jump and 39-10 1/2 in the triple jump.
* Named the team MVP in track as a senior and was named the Female Track Athlete of the Metroplex following her final campaign.
* Took first in the long jump and the 400m relay at the Texas Relays.

* Esther Akpan (Thomas) Jackson was born on November 19, 1981...Is the daughter of Akpan and Rosemary Thomas... Married to Marcus. J. Jackson.
* Is a pre-med (biology) major at TCU.
