General

  • Outstanding talent who returns for his senior season... earned All-America honors in the long jump as both a sophomore and a junior at the NCAA outdoor championships.
  • The defending Conference USA indoor and outdoor champion combines with Cleavon Dillon to give the Frogs a tremendous one-two punch in the long jump.
  • Could contend for a national title in the long jump this spring... also used as a short sprinter and could have a role on the 4x100-meter relay team.

    2003

  • One of the nation's top long jumpers, established the school indoor record by leaping 7.87 meters (25-10.00) at the Razorback Invitational on February 15.
  • Twice earned Conference USA male track & field Athlete of the Week honors.
  • Captured the C-USA indoor crown with a mark of 7.78 meters... was 11th at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a leap of 7.59m.
  • Also competed at the conference indoor meet in the 60 meter dash and in the triple jump... did not reach the finals in the 60 and placed seventh in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 14.21 meters.
  • Posted outdoor season-best marks of 7.99 meters in winning both the TCU Invitational and the Penn Relays.
  • Swept the conference long jump event by winning the outdoor meet with a distance of 7.60 meters.
  • Finished second in the long jump at the Midwest Region with a leap of 7.91 meters and was fourth at the NCAA Championships with a mark of 7.90 meters.

    2002

  • Highlight of the season came at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships... earned All-America honors with a fifth place finish in the long jump, recording a mark of 7.85 meters or 25 feet, 9.25 inches.
  • Recorded a then-personal indoor best of 7.50 meters in the long jump at the Conference USA Indoor Championships to finish fourth.
  • Best outdoor mark at 200 meters came in the C-USA prelims when he posted a 21.02 to reach the finals... his 21.26 in the finals placed ninth.
  • Won the Texas A&M Invitational long jump on April 13 with a mark of 7.70 meters.
  • Placed second in the TCU Invitational, reaching 8 meters even for the first time in his career.
  • Took home the bronze medal in the C-USA outdoor long jump with a mark of 7.64 meters.

    2001

  • Ran both the 60 and 200 meter sprints and participated in the long and triple jumps during the indoor season.
  • Earned a sixth place finish at the WAC Indoor Championships in the long jump with a mark of 7.19 meters (23-07.25).
  • Focused solely on the long jump event during the outdoor season.
  • Best mark was a 7.50 meter jump (24-07.25) at the Dr Pepper Invitational, the first meet of the year.
  • Won the UTA Open with a long jump of 7.40 meters (24-03.50).
  • Placed seventh at the WAC Outdoor Championships with a long jump of 7.25 meters (23-09.50).

    High School

  • Lettered four times in track and three times in soccer at Wolmer's Boys High School... competed in track for head coach Stephen Francis.
  • Long jumped 25-7, which would have registered as the best high school jump in the United States... also clocked a 10.60 100-meters and has recorded a 48-foot triple jump.
  • Was a member of the Jamaican National Junior teams (1996-99), the Jamaican 25-and-under team (2000), the World Junior team (1998) and the Pan Am Junior team (1999).
  • Won the Penn Relays champion long jump in both 1999 and 2000 and was a member of the winning 4x100 relay team in 2000.
  • Was a three-time Jamaican boys long jump champ.
