During the indoor season, Barnes' top-showing was a fourth-place outing in both the 600 and 200 meters at the Lobo Challenge ... He finished seventh overall at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships in both the 60 and 200 meters ... Barnes came on late in the year to tally a spot in the NCAA preliminary round in the 100 meters ... The sophomore broke out at the conference outdoor championships, crossing the finish line in fourth-place with a seasonal-best time of 10.41 seconds ... Barnes also competed in the 200 meters at the NCAA West Preliminary Round after turning in a fifth-place showing at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships in the event with a seasonal-best time of 21.03 seconds ...
