TCU's Tate garners second MWC Swimmer of the Week accolade

FORT WORTH, Texas - Erica Tate has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league office has announced. It is the second time this season that the Horned Frog junior has been honored by the conference, as she was the recipient in the season's first week (Oct. 26).
Tate, who hails from Grapevine, Texas, posted two first-place and one second-place finish in dual meets at Utah and BYU last week. In addition, she was a member of two winning relay teams and one runner-up squad.
Against Utah, she won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.47, which is one of the 10 best times in the MWC this season. She placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.47) and was a member of the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:32.29).
In the dual meet at BYU, Tate won the 50 free (24.08). In addition, she was a member of the first-place 400 free relay (3:33.51) and second-place 400-yard medley relay (3:58.73) teams.
