Freshman swimmer Keleigh Wentworth and sophomore Kelly Seely both earned Conference USA performer of the week awards for the week of Jan. 12, the conference office announced today. This is Seely's third week this season to earn this honor, third diver of the week crown in her career; Wentworth dons the title for the second time. The week marks the third week this season and in program history TCU swimming and diving sweeps the awards.
Wentworth, a four-year high school all-American from Midland, Texas, helped TCU to a win over Denver this weekend. She finished first in both the 1000 and the 500 yard freestyle events, maintaining her undefeated status in these competitions this season.
In Seely's third week atop the C-USA diving world, the Friendswood, Texas, native remains undefeated in the dual meet three-meter springboard, along with grabbing the one-meter title, scoring 240.05 and 240.20, respectively.
TCU's women's team is now 8-1 in the season and the men are 8-0. The women compete against Conference USA rival Houston this Friday at 7 p.m. in the University Rec Center before going head-to-head against New Mexico State Saturday morning at 11 a.m. while the men take on Florida at the same time.
