FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to the state of Utah to face BYU on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT and Utah on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT.
The TCU men's squad will enter the meet against the No. 23 Cougars with an overall record of 4-2 and a league mark of 1-2. The Frogs will look to pick up where they left off at the Las Vegas Invite last month. TCU finished 3rd and posted 14 top-three showings, highlighted by event wins by Jonathon Berrettini (100-back) and R.J. Hesselberg (3-meter dive).
The women's team (4-5 overall, 1-4 MWC) will look to rebound after a 169-129 loss at San Diego State last Friday. Junior Cheryl Townsend highlighted the meet for TCU, winning the 200-IM and 200-back events, while sophomore Stephanie Futscher remained undefeated in the 200-fly against league opponents.
The BYU men's team has only competed in one dual meet this season, routing UNLV by a score of 185-114. The women's squad has posted convincing victories over MWC opponents New Mexico and UNLV.
The Utah women's team currently holds an overall mark of 3-3 and a MWC record of 2-1, while the men's squad is currently winless with a record of 0-3.
TCU will face both BYU and Utah for the third time since joining the MWC prior to the start of the 2005-06 season. The women's team has split a pair of meetings with the Cougars, while the men are searching for their first victory. The TCU women have never defeated Utah, while the men secured their first win over the Utes last season.
