H2O Frogs Win A Pair of Duals Over Centenary

Shreveport, La. - The TCU swimming and diving teams kept their perfect records intact today against Centenary at the Haynes Fitness Center Pool. The women's team pushed its overall record to 5-0 with a 107-87 win over the Ladies, while the men's team bettered its record to 3-0 with a 88-70 victory over the Gents.
The women's team finished with the top times in every event against the Ladies. In the second event of the day in the 200-freestyle, the Frogs dominated the competition when they finished in the top three spots. Freshman Michelle Pottenger led the way with a time of 2:00.34 with sophomore Maggie Skille (2:03.47) and junior Amanda Reid (2:06.82) finishing second and third, respectively.
The Frogs accomplished the feat again just two events later when freshmen Keilah Walker and Melissa Weaver and junior Meredith Loechle finished first through third in the 400-IM. Walker led the way with a time of 4:48.25. Weaver finished in 4:57.46, while Loechle touched the wall in 4:58.02.
On the men's side, junior Teylor Arboleda finished in the first of three Frogs in the 50-freestyle. Arboleda sprinted to the win with a time of 22.02 seconds followed by junior Diego Palacios (22.51) and freshman Nick Vollmer (22.80).
Freshman Cameron Allred had a strong night for the team as he claimed the top spot in the 400-IM narrowly defeating senior teammate Andy Donovan. Allred finished with a time of 4:18.25, while Donovan touched the wall in 4:18.69.
Later in the dual, Allred picked up a runner-up finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:01.75. Sophomore Yousif Del Valle came in six seconds better than his teammate with a time of 4:55.70.
The women will return to the pool on Wednesday when they will host North Texas at the University Recreation Center. Meanwhile, the men will travel to Dallas on Thursday for a tilt against SMU.
