AUBURN, Ala. – TCU junior Sabine Rasch brought the 2012 season to a close Saturday at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship inside the James Martin Aquatics Center.
Rasch finished in a tie for 23rd place overall with a 48.92 in the 100-free preliminary competition. She narrowly missed out All-America honors, which were rewarded to swimmers who placed in the top 16.
“Sabine had a great year,” TCU coach Richard Sybesma said. “The experience of competing at the NCAA Championship will give her valuable experience.”
Rasch closed one of the finest seasons in TCU swimming history. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native set TCU records in the 50-free, 100-free and 200-free and became the first woman since 1996 to represent the Horned Frogs at the NCAA meet.
