High Altitude Training Puts Frogs on Top
Jan. 9, 2004
Denver, Colo. - The men remain unbeaten tonight after blowing Air Force and Denver out of the water with scores of 131.5 over 111.5 against the Falcons and 136 over 105 against the Pioneers, while the women tacked on another win, 137 to 101 versus Denver, to make their record 8-1. Numerous Frogs picked up individual victories to help bolster TCU past Air Force and Denver. Freshman Aran Bean set a pool record in the 200 breast with a 2:07.76 time and the men's 400 free relay team of freshman Yousif Del Valle, sophomore Brent Norcross, and seniors Aaron McLachlan and Mitch Loper swam a 3:08.58, good for a new pool mark. "This has been a culmination of a hard week training in altitude," Coach Richard Sybesma remarked. "We've never beaten Air Force at home, and this has been an excellent meet."
