SOPHOMORE SEASON (2008-09)
All-MWC Academic Team selection... set a new personal-best times in the 100- (59.68) and 200-fly (2:09.02)... took second place in the 1000-free (11:17.83) at UT Permian Basin... finished fourth in the 200-free (1:58.97) against Missouri State and fifth in the 1000-free (11:08.23) versus BYU... turned in her fastest time of the season to take sixth in the 1000-free (10:59.98) in the tie with Utah... swam six different events over the year.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2007-08)
Earned All-MWC Academic honors for the spring...topped all Frogs and was third in the 100-free (55.20) vs. SDSU...at BYU, placed fifth in the 100-free (55.54)...took fifth in the 200-free (1:59.09) and eighth in the 500-free (5:28.27) vs. Northern Arizona and Centenary...finished 12th in the 500-free (5:34.02) at CSU Early Bird Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL
Named a High School All-American in 2006... received All-American consideration all four years... two-time all-state selection... state qualifier in 2004 and 2006... received the All-District Academic-Athletic Award.
PERSONAL
Shannon Jones is the daughter of Douglas and Doris Jones... twin sister, Kimberly, is a junior on the swimming team... has one brother, Thomas (16)... father played collegiate football at Wittenberg University... majoring in environmental science at TCU with a minor in studio art.
