SENIOR (2006-07): Led the team in the 200-free (1:39.33), 500-free (4:27.63), 1000-free (9:19.19) and 1650-free (15:31.70)... earned All-MWC honors in the 1650- and 500-free, after third and fourth place finishes, respectively, at the MWC Championship... the 1650-free time of 15:31.70 was an NCAA "B" qualifying time... also set a TCU school record at the conference meet in the 1000-free (9:19.19)... posted seven event victories on the season... medalist in a team-leading 17 events... double event winner at Wyoming and against Utah... named TCU Male Athlete of the Week on Dec. 17, after notching three top-five finishes at the UNLV Invite, including a runner-up finish in the 1650-free (15:37.45) and a third-place showing in the 500-free (4:33.47)... ranks second all-time at TCU in the 1650-free (15:31.70) and fourth in the 200-free (1:39.33)... member of the fastest 800-free relay team (6:40.37)... earned a bronze medal in the South American games in the 400-free event.
JUNIOR (2005-06): Led the team in the 500-, 1000- and 1650-free...set personal best times in the 200-free (1:40.45) and 500-free (4:29.04)...won the 500-free (4:40.98) and 1000-free (9:46.06) events at Utah...winner of the 1000-free against Air Force, at BYU and at Southwest Missouri State...recipient of the Horned Frog Determination Award.
At Indian River - Competed in the distance freestyle events... won a national championship last season at the junior college level... NJC individual national champion in the 200-, 500- and 1650-freestyle events... MVP at NJC Nationals in 2004.
Club - Represented Venezuela and won gold in the South American games in the mile.
Personal - Alejandro Gomez is the son of Renny and Maria Eugenia Gomez... mother participated in the 1976 Olympics in the 200- and 400-free... majoring in biomechanics.
