FRESHMAN SEASON (2007-08)
Earned team award for Male Freshman of the Year...set a new personal best in the 400-IM to finish 11th with a time of 4:02.24 at the MWC Championship...also took eighth in the 200-back (1:49.68)...was runner-up to TCU's Jonathon Berrettini in the 100-back (52.73) and took fourth place out of 22 finishers in the 200-IM (2:00.21) at the CSU Early Bird Invite.
HIGH SCHOOL
Two-time All-American at Plano Sr. High School... member of the all-state team all four years... finished in the top five at the state championship two years in a row... named District Swimmer of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

Gettel is the son of Gary and Vicki Gettel... has a younger sister, Dayna (13), and two older sisters, Lauren (23) and Megan (27).
