Ben Biefnes is in his first year as the graduate assistant for the TCU swimming and diving program.
Biefnes, a TCU swimmer from fall 2006 to spring 2010, was a captain on the men's team in 2010 when it won the Mountain West Conference dual meet championship. As a Horned Frog, Biefnes swam the breaststroke and individual medley.
As a swimmer at TCU, Biefner was given the Unselfish Team Player Award in 2007, earned the Dedication Award in 2008 and picked up the Most Valuable Team Contributor Award in 2010.
A 2010 graduate of TCU with a bachelor's of science in communications and psychology, Biefnes was named the TCU Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010. The Aurora, Colo., native spent the last year at Carthage College working with breaststroke and IM groups, as well as helping coordinate dryland activities.
While he was at Carthage, the men's squads won its fourth-straight CCIW conference title, while the women's team finished 10th at the NCAA Championship. Biefnes also assisted in the team's recruiting.
Biefnes will have coaching duties, assist in recruiting and is pursuing a Masters of Liberal Arts.
