Rifle Hosts Memphis Saturday

FORT WORTH - The TCU women's rifle team will look to stretch its winning streak to 17 straight matches on Saturday when they host Memphis. The match is slated to begin at 9 a.m. at the TCU Rifle Range. ABOUT THE FROGS Individually, Sarah Scherer continues to dominate the field. In her last outing, she set an NCAA record with a 596 in smallbore. Combined with her identical score in air rifle, the senior set an NCAA mark with an aggregate total of 1,192. Hannah Black and Megan Lee have had solid starts to their collegiate career as each continue to improve on their personal bests each week. On the whole, TCU has not lost a regular season match in its last 34 outings, dating back to the 2009 campaign. The Frogs have won 16 straight matches heading into Saturday's contest. ABOUT THE TIGERS Memphis improved its season scores in each of the last two matches, shooting a 4,634 at West Virginia in its last outing. The Tigers were led by Dan Hermsmeier in both smallbore (586) and air rifle (589). Beth Lee has shown improvement as well, shooting a personal best 586 in air rifle at West Virginia.
