Rifle Sets Sights on The Citadel

FORT WORTH - The TCU Rifle team will look to build off a solid first weekend of action when it travels to Charleston, S.C., to face The Citadel Saturday. The match marks TCU's third of four matches away from home to open the season.
TCU took home the Tiger Open title with a 4,652-4,648 win over Memphis and finished second at the Ole Miss Invitational behind Jacksonville State.
Sally Li has displayed no signs of freshman inexperience, firing 592's in each of her first two air rifle showings. Hannah Black has also averaged 585.5 in the early part of the season. Catherine Green and Megan Lee have each averaged 584.5 for the season.
As for smallbore, Lee leads all Horned Frogs with a 582 season average, while Black and Li are close behind at 579 and 575, respectively.
The Bulldogs had a decent showing last weekend as well, opening their year with a second-place finish at a five-team SEARC match hosted by VMI. The Bulldogs shot an aggregate score of 4,451 (2,274 air rifle, 2,177 smallbore).
The Citadel was paced by Robert Jackson, its top air rifle shooter from the previous season, who fired a 574 to finish in the top 10. Richard Hunton also added a 571.
Jackson paced the team with a 554 in smallbore, earning a third place finish at the meet. Nathaniel Moy's 546 and Charles Yeh's 543 were contributor's to the Bulldgos finish.
