FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU rifle head coach Karen Monez announced the addition of three athletes set to join the team in the fall. Hannah Black signed an NLI, while Allie Taschuk and Kelly Bogart will walk on to the team in the fall. In total, TCU will welcome four freshmen in the fall as the trio will join Megan Lee, who signed in November.
"I am excited to have Hannah, Kelly and Allie join the team in the fall," said Monez. "They each will bring different strengths to the team and are perfect fits for our program. They have the potential to help the women's rifle team continue to excel on the rifle range as well as in the classroom."
Black, who hails from Richmond, Va., is a decorated shooter with lots of experience at the state and national level. Most recently, she earned a Bronze medal at the Junior Olympic Shooting Championships. She also participated in the Olympic Trials for air rifle, earning high junior marks and finishing ninth overall. A four-time National Junior Olympic participant, she is the Virginia State air rifle champion as well as a four-time air pistol state champion. She owns a personal best mark of 394 in 40-shot air rifle and a 588 in 60-shot air rifle.
Bogart will head to TCU from Merrick, N.Y. A three-time rifle team MVP, Bogart was named Calhoun High School's Most Outstanding Senior Female Athlete. She placed second in each of the last two state championships and was the individual county champion in 2010.
Taschuk comes to Fort Worth from Andover, Minn. A member of the Minnesota Centershots, Taschuk burst onto the scene in 2009 after winning the air rifle state championship for women. She took home the 2011 state championship in four-position smallbore. That same year, she helped her team place third in three-position air rifle as well as being named the state champion. She defended her title in 2012, winning both the air rifle and smallbore championships.
