TCU rifle hosts UTEP on Saturday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU rifle team returns home to host the UTEP Miners on Saturday. The Frogs currently own a six-match win streak with the team's most recent victory coming over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS In their first match of the spring, the Frogs topped the Cornhuskers 4,637-4,619. Simone Riford took home top honors in the match, posting an aggregate score of 1,164 (578 smallbore and 586 air rifle). Erin Lorenzen finished second with aggregate score of 1,162 (575 small and 587 air rifle).
In smallbore, the Fogs shot three of the top four scores in the meet. Riford let the field with a score of 578. Emily Paper and Lorenzen tied for second with a 575, and Caitlin Morrissey round out the Frogs with a score of 574.
SCOUTING THE MINERS The Miners enter Saturday's match after a strong showing against Nevada. Though the Miners fell short 4,622-4,568, Alix Mocanda, a sophomore and the Wolfpack's top shooter, shot a team-team high 591 in air gun, despite coming off hand surgery. This marked her fifth performance recording over the 590-plus mark.
