The Horned Frog rifle team travels to El Paso for the Southwest Invitational this weekend. Shooting this weekend will be TCU, Texas A&M, new Mexico Military Institute and UTEP. Those marks will be compared to Alaska and Air Force who shot last weekend.

Freshman Alicia Davis will make her collegiate rifle meet debut this weekend. "Alicia has shown in practice the last couple of months that she has a lot of shooting potential and has earned a spot on the traveling team," Coach Karen Monez said.

Coach Monez said she expects either sophomores Emily Conway or Nikki LeCompte to vie for the top spot on the team again. Sophomore Suzanne Bush and Senior Dana O'Shea are expected to contribute solid scores for the team for the second half of the season. Freshman Erin Lemmons has shown solid improvement as she enters her fourth competition.

"I expect the girls to build on the foundation they laid in the fall tournaments," Coach Monez said. "We still need to focus on performance and raising our individual and team scores."
