Rifle shoots to a draw with Nevada

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU woman's rifle team finished in draw against the Nevada Wolfpack Saturday in Reno, Nev. The Frogs claimed top honors in smallbore, topping the Wolfpack 2288-2276, but fell in air rifle 2338-2326. Lauren Sullivan had the best overall performance, finishing first in air rifle and second in smallbore. In smallbore, TCU earned five of the top eight finishes with Simone Riford leading the way, shooting a 578. Sullivan finished second with a score of 574. Erin Lorenzen shot a 571 for a fourth place finish. Tanya Gorin and Emily Paper rounded out the top eight with a 568 and 565, respectively. The squad also had four shooters place in the top eight in air rifle. Sullivan and Lorenzen both shot a 590. Riford finished sixth, shooting a 580. Tanya Gorin was the other top finisher with a tally of 578. The rifle team's next match is set for Oct. 24, 2007 against Alaska-Fairbanks in Fort Worth, Texas.
