Rifle comes in second at Nevada

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's rifle team came in second out of three teams at a tournament hosted by Nevada-Reno. For the third straight match, a pair of freshmen led the team. Erin Lorenzen captured first place in the Air Rifle, while Simone Riford was the top Frog shooter in the Smallbore. In the Air Rifle portion of the competition, the Horned Frogs placed three members in the top 10. Lorenzen captured her second win this season with a score of 587, one-point shy of her career-high. Also placing in the event were Riford in fifth place and Lauren Sullivan in sixth place. Riford finished fourth in the Smallbore with a score of 567, while Tanya Gorin finished seventh with a score of 565 and Lorenzen placed ninth with a tally of 563. Nevada-Reno claimed the title with an aggregate score of 4611, with TCU right behind in second with a score of 4578. UTEP finished third with an aggregate of 4532. The 4578 points totaled by the Frogs is the third most in school history.
