Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU women's rifle team finished second out of five squads at the Ole Miss Invitational this past weekend. The Frogs finished just 16 points behind tournament champions, Jacksonville State.
Erin Lorenzen tallied the Frogs highest finish on the day, a third-place showing in air rifle.
In air rifle, the Frogs place three shooters in the top 10 for a score of 2,326 and a second place finish. Lorenzen shot a 585 in the event to finish third. Emily Paper came in fourth with a score of 584. Simone Riford was the other top finisher with a tally of 580.
In smallbore, the Frogs finished just five points behind first place with 2,281 points. Again, the Frogs had three finishers in the top 10. Paper was the top Frog shooter with a score of 573. Lorenzen matched her score and finished fifth. Rounding out the top shooters for TCU was Riford, who shot a 569.
Also competing in the competition were Lauren Sullivan and Tanya Gorin. Sullivan finished with a 577 in air rifle and a 566 in smallbore. Gorin shot a 563 in air rifle and 565 in smallbore.
