TCU drops close match at Jacksonville State

Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU women's rifle dropped a close match against Jacksonville State last Friday, falling 4,622 to 4,610. TCU claimed the title in smallbore, slipping away with a one-point victory, 2,297-2,296. Emily Paper captured her first win of the 2007-07 season, shooting a 579 in smallbore. TCU led by a miniscule one point after the smallbore competition. The Frogs claimed five of the top 10 places, including Paper's first place finish. Lauren Sullivan came in fourth, shooting a 575. Simone Riford was sixth with a score of 573 followed by Erin Lorenzen in seventh with a 570. Tanya Gorin rounded out the Frogs shooters with a score of 566. Erin Lorenzen was the top finisher for the Frogs in air rifle, placing third with a score of 584. Despite the Frogs best efforts, Jacksonville State eked out the 2,326-2,313 victory to claim the match title. Paper finished her day with a fifth place finish in air rifle, shooting a 581.
