Horned Frogs Finish Second in NCAA Sectionals

Fort Worth, Texas - In the TCU-hosted NCAA sectionals, the Horned Frog rifle team finished second in smallbore this week to a tough UMKC team. The Kangaroos scored a team total of 4,532 to TCU's 4,152. Sophomore Celeste Green finished second individually. Green's best performance came when she shot a 394 prone, helping her to an 1146 total. Joncee Moulder finished eighth with a 1,050 score, while Nina Martinez and Jess Parras finished 11th and 16th, respectively. The Frogs finished ahead of New Mexico Military Institute (3,819 and 1,275) and Texas A&M (3,784 and 1,173) in smallbore and air rifle. The Frogs also finished second in air rifle with a team score of 1,479. Martinez led the team with a score of 381 and a second place finish. Parras placed fourth with a score of 376. Green and Moulder rounded out the top ten with seventh and tenth place finishes.
