Rifle claims third straight victory

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's rifle team picked up its third straight victory, topping UTEP and UMKC this past weekend in El Paso. Erin Lorenzen claimed her second straight victory in air rifle with a personal best score of 593, while Lauren Sullivan won for the second time in smallbore, shooting a 581.
The Frogs had five of the top 10 finishers in air rifle to claim the 15-point win over UTEP (2,340-2,325). Coming in second place behind Lorenzen with a score of 591 was Sullivan. Simone Riford finished fourth, shooting a 580. Rounding out the top 10 were Emily Paper in ninth (576) and Tanya Gorin in tenth with a 572.
In smallbore, TCU again had five shooters finish in the top nine to earn the win over UTEP, 2,309-2,289. Riford finished second in the event with a 581, while Lorenzen finished sixth (574) and Paper came in seventh (573). Gorin earned a ninth-place finish with a 563.
The Frogs topped UTEP with an aggregate score of 4,649, while UTEP amassed 4,614 points. UMKC came in third with an aggregate score of 4,424.
