Feb. 6, 2003
SHREVEPORT, La. - Led by individual title winner Jessica Green (Lufkin, Texas/Homeschool), every TCU shooter compiled four-digit scores as the Horned Frogs closed out their regular season with a convincing smallbore victory at Centenary College last Saturday. The Frogs compiled 4,203 points to outscore the Centenary Ladies (3,766) and Gents (3,623). Green earned the individual title by tallying a score of 1,101 to spearhead the TCU romp. Each of the Frogs' other six shooters also eclipsed 1,000 points while none of Centenary's nine athletes reached four digits. Nina Martinez (Houston, Texas/Jersey Village) collected runner-up honors with a score of 1,049. Sophomore Jess Parras (Monahans, Texas/Monahans), who didn't even shoot with the TCU Purple squad, tallied a career-high 1,042 to place third. Up next for the Horned Frogs is the NCAA Sectionals, which they will host at the TCU Rifle Range. The sectional meet will take place February 7-8 and 14-15.
