In her third season with the TCU Rifle team, Dena Putnam is one of the top shooters on the TCU team. An active high school athlete, Putnam has become quite the ace on the rifle range.

Putnam peaked at the proper time last season. Her season high for the air rifle, a 363, came at the NCAA Sectionals on Feb. 12. That mark was good for fifth place in that portion of the event.

Personal: Putnam is a junior nursing major from Perry, Kan. She attended Perry Lecompton High School and graduated in 1997. An accomplished high school athlete, Putnam lettered twice each in basketball and volleyball and four times in softball and was also a member of her student council as vice president. Graduating in the top one percent of her senior class, Putnam was a Kansas Honor Scholar, Governor's Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. She is currently involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Officers' Christian Fellowship, and Rangers. Putnam is the daughter of Ed and Pat Putnam and was born on March 19, 1979.
