Though the TCU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is a proud and integral part of Texas Christian University, it desires to be recognized simply as TCU (acronym only) Athletics. Ditto regarding references to its sports teams: TCU rifle, TCU football, TCU baseball, TCU golf, TCU basketball, etc.

Therefore, in all future sports-related media references, we respectfully urge that the University's teams be identified with an appropriate appellation - TCU. In subsequent references of the same presentation, the team may be referred to by nickname - Horned Frogs. A shorter version of the nickname, Frogs, is acceptable in later usage.
