Marcy Girton serves as Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator. She is responsible for overseeing the athletics compliance program and departmental policies, as well as athletics financial aid, and the Student Athlete Advisory Council. She also supervises the sports of women's basketball, soccer and men's and women's tennis.

Girton has a broad background in intercollegiate athletics as an athlete, coach and administrator. Since joining TCU in 1999, she has been involved in all phases of sports programs, from marketing and promotions, to fund raising, personnel management and broadcasting.

A native of Reelsville, Ind., Girton began her administrative career at Western Carolina in 1996, supervising 11 sports and overseeing academic support services, the Life Skills program, and the Student-Athlete Council. In addition, Girton handled personnel management, budget preparation, event scheduling and operations, marketing and promotions, and fund raising, along with community and alumni outreach activities.

A 1981 graduate of Taylor (Ind.) University, Girton earned a master's degree from Ball State in 1982 and received a second master's from Indiana State in 1983. Girton enrolled in the doctoral program at Purdue in 1995. She served as special events coordinator for the Purdue Alumni Association, while also providing analysis on the women's basketball radio broadcasts. Prior to her stint at Purdue, Girton coached women's collegiate basketball for 10 years. She was named the TCU Athletics Department "Teammate of the Year" following the 2000-01 school year.
