John Cunningham joined the TCU staff in July 2006 as Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance for Rules Education. In this position, he oversees a comprehensive rules education program and provides rules interpretations for athletics staff, coaches, student athletes and university officials.

Prior to accepting his current position at TCU, Cunningham served as the Compliance Coordinator at the University of Maryland. There, in addition to providing rules interpretations, he was responsible for tracking initial, continuing and transfer eligibility of over 700 student-athletes. While in law school, he was a compliance intern at Maryland for two summers.

A 2001 TCU graduate, Cunningham received a law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2005 and is a member of the Texas Bar Association.
