TCU Athletics develops You're a Horned Frog campaign
Dec. 28, 2005
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Through its "You're a Horned Frog" campaign, the TCU Athletics Department has developed an internal campus program to remind and inspire its student-athletes to embrace sportsmanship, personal responsibility, academic achievement, good citizenship and pride in TCU.
Inspired by the NCAA's "Little Eyes are Watching You" sportsmanship initiative, the campaign was developed by the TCU athletics administrative team with assistance from the campus marketing and communications office.
"You're a Horned Frog" uniquely reflects the TCU campus culture and champions the success and class that its student-athletes have displayed on the playing field, in the classroom and community.
"The goal of our program is to remind our student-athletes that they have a responsibility to not only themselves but also their families, team, athletics department and university," TCU Athletics Director Danny Morrison said. "We want them to understand the value of their education as student-athletes at TCU.
"It's also a great opportunity to reinforce the many positive lessons learned through athletics participation."
Internally, posters and signage will be placed in locker rooms, team gathering places and athletics administration areas. Future plans call for the implementation of a broader phase that would be adopted for the entire campus.
