FORT WORTH, Texas -- Cross country's Kip Kangogo and volleyball's Anna Vaughn were named TCU's male and female student-athletes of the week for Sept. 12, while football's Aaron Brown and volleyball's Talaya Whitfield are the Sept. 19 recipients.
Kangogo paced the Horned Frogs' cross country team with a first-place finish at the UTA Invitational (Sept. 10). The senior standout from Kabamet, Kenya, won the four-mile race with a time of 19:22.

A junior from Grapevine, Texas, Vaughn is a two-time all-conference selection.
A true freshman from Katy, Texas, Brown did not have any carries in the first two games before rushing for 163 yards on 17 attempts (9.6 average) in TCU's 23-20 nationally-televised victory over Utah, snapping the Utes' 18-game winning streak.
Brown was also selected as the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Whitfield was named to the all-tournament team at the Molten/Fort Worth Plaza Invitational after posting 34 digs and 20 kills. Her standout game came against No. 5 Minnesota as she recorded a double-double with 25 digs and 12 kills.
