
TCU/ISP Sports Network honored by Texas Associated Press Broadcasters
April 29, 2008 The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters honored the TCU/ISP Sports Radio Network on Tuesday (Apr. 29) for their outstanding work during the 2007 Horned Frogs' football season. The TCU/ISP Sports Radio Network crew of Brian Estridge (play-by-play), John Denton (color analyst) and Jeff Williams (sideline reporter) was recognized by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters - which ranked the Horned Frogs' broadcast of the 2007 Texas Bowl second in the State of Texas among all live play-by-play sports programming over the past season. In that contest - the Frogs recorded a 20-13 victory over the University of Houston in a game that was played in front of a Texas Bowl-record 62,000 fans at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Estridge has been the "Voice of the Horned Frogs" as well as TCU's Director of Broadcasting for the last decade in addition to serving as the play-by-play announcer for numerous ESPNU and CBS/Westwood one radio productions. The "Voice of the Frogs" has been previously honored by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters along with the Press Club of Dallas as the best collegiate play-by-play announcer in the State of Texas. Estridge is the co-host of the popular "Galloway and Company" - which can be heard afternoons on the TCU/ISP Sports Network flagship station 103.3 FM ESPN Radio. Denton has been associated with the TCU/ISP Sports Network for the past 19 campaigns in addition to working with Westwood One and CBS Radio Sports on their coverage of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, NFL Monday Night Football, NFL Playoffs and Major League Baseball's Game of the Week. This past May - Denton was awarded with the Lindsey Nelson Outstanding Broadcaster Award by the All-American Football Foundation for excellence in broadcasting and dedication to the game of college football. Williams has work with the TCU/ISP Sports Network for nine seasons in addition to serving as the play-by-play voice for the TCU women's basketball program. Williams has served as the sideline analyst for TCU radio and television broadcasts in football and also provides play-by-play accounts for select TCU men's basketball games. The top sport in the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters' rankings went to the Texas Rangers broadcast crew for it performance in a record-setting 30-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles last August.
