Thirty-six TCU student-athletes named to MWC fall academic team
April 17, 2007 FORT WORTH, Texas - Thirty-six TCU student-athletes have been named to the fall 2006 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team. Fall sports include men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and women's volleyball. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team. Women's soccer led the way for TCU with 12 recipients. Lizzie Batten, Katy Buchanan, Becky Claudat, Kelly Faerber, Casey Glass, Courtney Johnson, Breanne Kaldheim, Lizzy Karoly, Michelle Nguyen, Lesley Parkinson, Anna Paulson and Lauren Pope made the list. Eleven cross country runners were also named to the team. Houston Bolin, Cody Cook, Michael Garcia, Alex Morris and J.T. Reinert were men's honorees, while Lisa Baity, Halie Bullin, McKale Davis, Cassie Hostick, Danielle Selner and Ashley Young made the women's team. TCU volleyball was represented by seven student-athletes, including, Emily Allen, Katelyn Blackwood, Calli Corley, Agi Nemeth, Lauren Otto, Anna Vaughn and Devon Kirk. In addition, six Horned Frog football players made the list: Chad Andrus, Brent Hecht, Josh Karlin, Peter LoCoco, Chris Manfredini and Shae Reagan. --www.GoFrogs.com-- |
