FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Athletics Department selected track and field’s men’s 4x400 relay and swimming’s Megan Higginbotham as its Student-Athletes of the Week for their recent efforts for the Horned Frogs.

Higginbotham helped lead TCU to a 156-131 victory against Mountain West Conference opponent New Mexico Friday, sweeping the breaststroke events. The sophomore claimed the 100-breast at 1:08.45 before pacing the field in the 200-breast with a clocking of 2:26.03. The Cumming, Ga., native entered the meet with only one career victory, winning the 200-IM against Air Force last season.

Junior Matthew Love blew by Baylor's Zwede Hewitt down the backstretch to help the men's 4x400 capture the event-title on Saturday night with the fourth-fastest time in the world on the final day of competition at the Razorback Invitational. The men's 4x400 quartet of Dell Guy, Clemore Henry, Mychal Dungey and Love clipped Baylor to post a seasonal-best time of 3:07.59 and win the event-title on Saturday night. The unit's time is currently No. 3 in the NCAA this winter. It is also the top-time posted in the conference in 2010 and the sixth-fastest time ever recorded in program history.
