TCU names Nordmann associate athletics director for compliance
Jan. 26, 2007 FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Andrea Nordmann as associate athletics director for compliance. Nordmann comes to the Horned Frogs after serving as the assistant director of compliance for financial aid at the University of Miami (Fla.). She spent six years with the Hurricanes. In June 2003, she was promoted from compliance coordinator to her current position. Nordmann's duties at Miami included coordinating all aspects of compliance and monitoring for recruiting, financial aid, benefits and athlete agents. She also managed the overall compliance program directed towards administering athletic aid to prospective and current student-athletes, while overseeing the awarding of all National Letters of Intent. "We are very excited to have Andrea Nordmann join the TCU family in a very important role," TCU athletics director Danny Morrison said. "Andrea comes to us highly recommended and brings the added experience of having been a student-athlete and coach. "This is a critical hire and we feel extremely fortunate to have attracted someone of Andrea's character and caliber." Nordmann helped lead Miami through the NCAA certification process in November 2005 while creating a Standard Operating Procedure manual for the assistant director of compliance position. She also authored portions of the complete rewrite of the Compliance Policy and Procedure manual, part of the requirement for the NCAA certification process. A 1993 graduate of Bowling Green State, Nordmann was a member of the Falcons' women's basketball team. She later played professionally in Belgium. After her playing career ended, Nordmann served two seasons (1996-98) as an assistant women's basketball coach at Central Michigan. She then moved on to Eastern Michigan as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 1998-01. She received a Master's of Business Administration from Bowling Green State in 1999. At both Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan, Nordmann was the liaison for the women's basketball team to the compliance office. Nordmann will begin work at TCU on Feb. 5. |
