LIFE EXPERIENCES

In the big picture, we're here to provide our student-athletes with life experiences to make them well-rounded individuals. A great example is last week's trip by our baseball program to the Dominican Republic. It was about so much more than the three games we played against the New York Mets' Dominican teams. It was an idea from head coach Jim Schlossnagle about reaching out to others and exposing our student-athletes to how fortunate we are to be in our surroundings. Our baseball student-athletes were outstanding in their community outreach, including hand digging a foundation for a house. They even dug out a tree all by hand. It was truly a great experience for the kids and a memory of a lifetime. We extend our gratitude to the donors who made this trip possible.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I'd like to begin this week's blog by wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! Here's hoping you and yours have a great and safe Holiday. The TCU campus will be closed Thursday and Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

PACKED HOUSE FOR THE SENIORS

While the win at Boise State was indeed a great day to be a Horned Frog, let's not forget that we still have two home games left. It's very important that we have packed houses for our seniors. We host Colorado State Saturday at 2:30 p.m. We need you to be in your seats early and to be loud as our seniors go for their 45th win, which would make them the winningest class in TCU football history. We should have a great day for football with temperatures in the 70s. As good as the win at Boise State was, and we appreciate seeing all the purple in the stands amidst the blue and orange, we're playing for a Mountain West championship right now.

BIG GAME SATURDAY 

TCU football coach Gary Patterson and his staff have done another outstanding job in putting us in position to contend for another conference championship. We're back in the top 25 this week and obviously have a big game Saturday at Boise State. Mountain West title implications are at stake. If you can't make the trip, the game can be seen on VERSUS as well as being heard on WBAP 820 AM and 96.7 FM, 88.7 KTCU, 100.7 KKHT-FM in Houston and through GoFrogs.com. 

GREAT NIGHT AT COWBOYS STADIUM  

Highlighted by our win on the gridiron over BYU and our halftime Frogs for the Cure event, it was a great night on Friday at Cowboys Stadium. It was also a fantastic turnout with over 50,000 in the house, especially considering a rather important baseball game of local interest was being televised at the same time. With the ESPN spotlight on the Frogs, it was a terrific evening of exposure for all of TCU.
