Special Note: In response to what's been happening at other institutions around the country, I thought it would be prudent to remind ourselves that following all NCAA rules and regulations is an absolute priority. LOOKING AHEAD
Greetings from Newport, R.I. It's been an extremely busy, productive and fun last couple of days being in meetings with my BIG EAST colleagues. We've had discussions on a lot of topics relevant to the future of the league, including scheduling, television and expansion. One of the more popular questions I've received since the announcement that we're joining the league is what our BIG EAST Conference football schedule will look like in 2012. As far as future conference expansion, any move that is made down the road will keep in mind how important it is to preserve the history and tradition of basketball, the sport that truly launched the BIG EAST to where it is today. Adding to the mosaic of what the BIG EAST brings to the table is the legendary clambake at the league's Football Media Day. It truly lived up to everything I had heard about it in advance. It's going to be incredibly exciting to be a member of the BIG EAST Conference.
